Hyderabad: Actor Suriya's highly anticipated mythological epic Karna, which had generated significant excitement due to its star-studded cast and grand scale, is reportedly facing some challenges. While official confirmation is still awaited, there are reports suggesting that the project might be delayed or possibly shelved, primarily due to the substantial budget required for its ambitious vision.
Originally planned as a two-part film with an estimated budget of Rs 350 crores, Karna was set to be directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and would have marked Suriya's Bollywood debut as a pan-Indian project. Based on the epic character of Karna from the Mahabharata, the film had already stirred interest with Suriya cast in the lead role and Janhvi Kapoor playing Draupadi.
While the film was eagerly anticipated, the buzz has it that the budgetary demands and logistical factors may be contributing to the uncertainty surrounding the project's future. However, it's important to note that no official statement has been made by the makers, and it remains to be seen what the final decision will be.
