Mysuru:The Lokayukta police have issued a notice to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to appear before them for questioning in the MUDA site allotment case on November 6, official sources said on Monday.
Mysuru Lokayukta SP T. J. Udesh has issued the notice to the CM to attend for the enquiry at the Lokayukta office at 10.30 am on November 6.
CM Siddaramaiah has responded to the Lokayukta notice, saying that he will attend the hearing on Wednesday. As part of the current by-election, the CM is campaigning in Shiggaov constituency at present.
Mysore Lokayukta Police are investigating the MUDA scam. CM Siddaramaiah is A1 accused in the case and his wife Parvati is A2. The Lokayukta police have already interrogated the CM's wife on October 25 and her son-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju who had sold the land to Swamy, who in turn gifted it to CM's wife.
The FIR in the MUDA scam was registered by the Mysuru-located Lokayukta police on September 27.
The latest Lokayukta police summons and CM's immediate reaction have once again sent the political temperature soaring in the midst of the by-election campaign in the state. The political leaders are eagerly awaiting to know what questions that the Lokayukta police will ask and how the chief minister will react in the coming hearing.
