Haryana Assembly Polls 2024: Independent Candidate Savitri Jindal Wins In Hisar

Savitri Jindal, the mother of BJP MP Naveen Jindal, won as an independent candidate from the Hisar Assembly constituency.

Hisar (Haryana):Savitri Jindal, mother of BJP MP Naveen Jindal, who was contesting as an independent candidate, won from the Hisar assembly seat in Haryana, according to the Election Commission of India data.

Savitri Jindal is a former Haryana Minister. She won by a margin of 18941 votes. Savitri Jindal polled 49231 votes and defeated Congress nominee Ram Niwas Rara polled 30, 290 votes. BJP nominee Dr Kamal Gupta stood third and managed to get only 17385 votes.

In a post on X, Savitri Jindal thanked the voters for electing her as their MLA. "This election was contested by everyone and this is everyone's win. I congratulate my Hisar family for this win," said Savitri Jindal, a former Haryana Minister.

Her grandson Parth Jindal also took to X and congratulated his grandmother.

"That’s my grandmother! I am so so proud today to be from Hisar and so proud to have the blood of my Dadi, what a lady, what a campaign, what an unbelievable win - now we all will work tirelessly for the betterment of our hometown, our Hisar - congratulations Dadi - Savitri Jindal - love you so much - thank you to our Hisar parivar for the trust and confidence," Parth Jindal.

A voter turnout of 61.44 per cent was recorded in the Hisar constituency after voting took place on October 5. In the 2019 Haryana Assembly polls, the BJP won the Hisar seat, when its candidate Dr Kamal Gupta emerged victorious. Dr Kamal Gupta polled 49, 675 votes in the 2019 polls.
