New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, during his visit to Delhi on Thursday, launched two new schemes for Congress-Free Bijli Yojana and Inflation Mukti Yojana.
Reddy launched the scheme ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee here. Under the Free Bijli Yojana, 300 units of electricity will be made available to residents of the national capital if Congress wins the polls. Similarly, under the Inflation Mukti Yojana, cylinder and ration kits will be distributed for Rs 500.
Reddy said five promises were made by Congress during the Assembly elections in Telangana and efforts made to fulfill each one of them. "A major issue in Telangana was farmers' debt. The Telangana government has waived off debt worth Rs 21,000 crore of 2.5 farmers in a year. After independence, no state government had waived off farmers' debt at such a large scale. At the same time, we gave more than 55,000 jobs in the first year. Also, the Telangana government is giving 200 units of free electricity and cylinder for Rs 500 to 50 lakh people," he said.
Reddy said Congress not only makes promises before elections but also puts in all efforts to fulfill them after winning. He said Congress will fulfil all its promises and implement all schemes it has promised in Delhi like Telangana, where his government has implemented schemes announced before the polls. "My appeal to the people of Delhi is to ensure Congress' victory. The plight of the national capital is deplorable after BJP assumed power at the Centre and Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi," he said.
