రష్యా అధ్యక్షుడు వ్లాదిమిర్ పుతిన్కు సాహసక్రీడలంటే అమితమైన ప్రేమ. ఆ ఇష్టంతోనే అప్పుడప్పుడు సందడి చేస్తుంటారాయన. ప్రస్తుతం సోచిలో ఉన్న పుతిన్ అక్కడ కొద్దిసేపు సరదాగా జుడో ఆడారు. రష్యా ఛాంపియన్లతో సమరానికి సై అన్నారు.

2014 శీతకాల ఒలింపిక్స్కు ఆతిథ్యమిచ్చిన సోచిలోని శిక్షణా శిబిరంలో జాతీయ జట్టు ఆటగాళ్లతో తలబడ్డారు పుతిన్. అనంతరం వారితో కలిసి ఫోటోలు దిగారు.

"Earlier this morning we were notified that this levee off to the side of us here had breached. This large amount of water coming down Novato Creek had actually washed it away. The water is now being redirected into this 600 acre field that's behind me. So the concern for us in this field parallels Highway 37 for quite a ways. It's filling up rather quickly. Our concern obviously is that at low points a little further down the road this water could possibly come up, overtake the roadway at some point. So we're continuing to watch it and we'll keep the road open as long as we can. If we don't have to close it, we won't, but if we do ... We're just waiting to see."

STORYLINE:
Officials in Northern California say a levee along a highway has breached and they are monitoring the rural area in case a highway gets flooded or train tracks are damaged.
California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Andrew Barclay said Thursday that crews with several agencies were watching the swollen Novato Creek, which was flooding a field to the south of Highway 37.
Barclay said the highway remained open but they may close it if it gets flooded.
There are no nearby homes or structures threatened by flooding but the officials posted about the breach on social media to warn area residents of the possible closure.
Waves of heavy rain pounded California on Thursday, washing away a mountain highway, triggering a mudslide that destroyed homes, and forcing residents to flee communities scorched by wildfires last year.
The powerful system swept in from the Pacific Ocean and unleashed damaging rain, snow and wind across the U.S. West into Wyoming, Montana and Colorado after walloping Northern California and southern Oregon a day earlier.
The National Weather Service reported staggering rainfall amounts across California, including more than 9.4 inches (24 centimeters) over 48 hours at one location in the San Bernardino Mountains east of Los Angeles.
