అగస్టా వెస్ట్ ల్యాండ్ కేసులో క్రిస్టియన్ మిషెల్ కస్టడీని దిల్లీ కోర్టు ఒక్కరోజు పొడిగించింది. ప్రత్యేక న్యాయమూర్తి జస్టిస్ అరవింద్ కుమార్ ఈ మేరకు ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేశారు. వీవీఐపీ హెలికాఫ్టర్ల కొనుగోలు వ్యవహారంలో మధ్యవర్తిగా వ్యవహరించిన మిషెల్‌ కస్టడీని పొడిగించాలని సీబీఐ దిల్లీ కోర్టును ఆశ్రయించింది.

మిషెల్‌ను యూఏఈ నుంచి గతేడాది డిసెంబరు 4న భారత్‌కు తీసుకొచ్చారు. కోర్టు ముందు హాజరుపరిచి ఐదు రోజుల నిర్బంధ విచారణ నిమిత్తం సీబీఐకి అప్పగించారు. విచారణానంతరం డిసెంబరు 22న మిషెల్ను ఈడీ అరెస్ట్ చేసింది.

హెలికాప్టర్ల కొనుగోలు వ్యవహారంలో ఈడీ, సీబీఐలు మిషెల్ తోపాటు మరో ఇద్దరు మధ్యవర్తులు గిడో హస్కే, కార్లో గెరోసాలనూ దర్యాప్తు చేస్తున్నాయి.

STORYLINE:
RIO'S CARNIVAL-GOERS IN DEFIANT MOOD
Thousands of revellers in Rio de Janeiro celebrated the annual "Simpatia Quase Amor" carnival street party alongside Ipanema beach Saturday (23 FEBRUARY 2019).
As they celebrated the carnival and its 35th anniversary, organizers and party-goers also honored Marielle Franco, the Rio councilwoman killed in March 2018, and protested budget cuts and reduced permission for block parties in the city.
Simpatia Quase Amor director Dudu Brandao said that "nobody gives orders in our carnival" and made reference to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Rio mayor Marcelo Crivella and Rio governor Wilson Witzel.
Rio's city hall has reduced the number of carnival street parties this year by about 20 percent, as well as cut the budget available for the block parties.
Simpatia Quase Amor, which takes place a week before the official opening of the Rio carnival, roughly translates as "Friendliness is Almost Love".
