రైతులకు పెట్టుబడి సాయానికి ఉద్దేశించిన పథకం 'ప్రధానమంత్రి కిసాన్ సమ్మాన్ నిధి'ని ఈనెల 24న ఉత్తర్ప్రదేశ్లోని గోరఖ్పుర్లో ప్రారంభించనున్నారు.

ఐదెకరాల లోపు భూమి ఉన్న రైతులకు పెట్టుబడి సాయానికై ఉద్దేశించిన కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ పథకం ప్రధానమంత్రి కిసాన్ సమ్మాన్నిధి. ఈ ప్రతిష్టాత్మక కార్యక్రమాన్ని ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్రమోదీ ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్లోని గోరఖ్పుర్లో ఈ నెల 24నే ప్రారంభించనున్నారు. ఫర్టిలైజర్ మైదానంలో జరిగే ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి 'కిసాన్ మహా అధివేశన్'గా నామకరణం చేశారు.

తొలివిడత సాయంగా రూ. 2 వేలను రైతుల ఖాతాల్లో నేరుగా జమచేయనున్నారు. కార్యక్రమ ఏర్పాట్లను పరిశీలించారు భాజపా రాష్ట్రాధ్యక్షుడు సత్యేంద్ర సిన్హా. ఏడువేలమంది రైతులు ఈ సభలో పాల్గొననున్నారని అంచనా.

2016లో ఫర్టిలైజర్ మైదానం లోనే ఎయిమ్స్కు, ఫర్టిలైజర్ ఫాక్టరీకి శంకుస్థాపన చేశారని ఇప్పటి వరకూ నిర్మాణానికి నోచుకోలేదని విమర్శిస్తున్నాయి విపక్షాలు. ప్రస్తుతం పెట్టుబడి సాయానికి నాంది పలుకుతున్నారని ఈ పథకాన్ని అలాగే మట్టిపాలు చేస్తారని సమాజ్వాదీ నేతలు వ్యంగ్యాస్త్రాలు సంధిస్తున్నారు.

STORYLINE:
The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency is resigning, months after an investigation found he misused government vehicles to travel to his home in North Carolina.
Brock Long said in a letter Wednesday to agency employees that he was resigning to spend more time with his family.
Long was under investigation by the Homeland Security Department's watchdog, and word of it leaked just as Hurricane Florence struck last fall. Officials found he misused vehicles, but Long was not asked to resign, and he agreed to reimburse the government.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen says he led the agency admirably for two years through six major hurricanes and five historic wildfires.
Deputy Administrator Pete Gaynor will become acting head of the agency.
