పీవీ నరసింహా రావు పేరు మీదుగా అందించిన 'జాతీయ నాయకత్వ, జీవిత సాఫల్య పురస్కారాన్ని' అందుకున్నారు మాజీ ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్ సింగ్. భారత్-పాక్ మధ్య ఉద్రిక్తతలపై స్పందించారు.

భారత్-పాకిస్థాన్ దేశాధినేతలు ప్రశాంత చిత్తంతో ఆలోచించి, ఆర్థిక ప్రగతిపై దృష్టి సారిస్తారని ఆశిస్తున్నట్లు తెలిపారు మాజీ ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్ సింగ్. బాధ్యతాయుతమైన చర్చలతో ఉద్రిక్త పరిస్థితులు తగ్గుతాయని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.

మాజీ ప్రధాని పీవీ నరసింహరావు జ్ఞాపకార్థం ఆయన పేరు మీద "జాతీయ నాయకత్వ, జీవిత సాఫల్య పురస్కారాన్ని" తొలిసారి ప్రకటించింది ఓ స్వచ్ఛంద సంస్థ. ఈ అవార్డుకు మన్మోహన్ ఎంపికయ్యారు. దిల్లీలో తీన్మూర్తి భవన్లో నిర్వహించిన కార్యక్రమంలో ఈ అవార్డును మన్మోహన్కు ప్రదానం చేశారు మాజీ రాష్ట్రపతి ప్రణబ్ ముఖర్జీ.

'పేదరికం, వ్యాధులు.... రెండు దేశాల్లో ఉన్న ప్రధాన సమస్యలు. వీటి ద్వారా కోట్లాది మంది ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు. వాటి పరిష్కరించే దిశగా చర్యలు చేపడితే ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితులు సద్దుమణుగుతాయి. ఇరు దేశాల మధ్య బాధ్యతాయుత చర్చలు జరిగి ఆర్ధికాభివృద్ధిపై తిరిగి దృష్టి సారిస్తాయని ఆశిస్తున్నా '

Reaction after Romelu Lukaku made his mark as he capitalised on Manchester United's lengthy injury list to lead them to a 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace that maintains their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The Belgian had gone nine games without a goal and was becoming a more peripheral figure since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's appointment.
After recovering from missing a glorious chance, Lukaku scored in each half to keep Arsenal, a point and a position above them in fourth, under pressure.
A further finish from Ashley Young, after Joel Ward had responded for 14th-placed Palace, ultimately ensured a continuation of the momentum they will hope to carry into next week's crucial Champions League fixture at Paris St Germain and perhaps next season's competition.
