'నేషనల్ హెరాల్డ్'పై తీర్పు నేడే

నేషనల్ హెరాల్డ్ భవనం వ్యాజ్యంపై సింగిల్ జడ్జి ఇచ్చిన తీర్పును సవాల్ చేస్తూ ఏజేఎల్ దాఖలు చేసిన పిటిషన్పై నేడు తీర్పునివ్వనుంది దిల్లీ హైకోర్టు.

నేషనల్ హెరాల్డ్ భవంతిని ఖాళీ చేయాలన్న సింగిల్ జడ్జి తీర్పును సవాల్ చేస్తూ అసోసియేటెడ్ జర్నల్స్ లిమిటెడ్(ఏజేఎల్) దాఖలు చేసిన పిటిషన్పై దిల్లీ హైకోర్టు నేడు తీర్పు వెలువరించనుంది.

దేశ రాజధానిలోని నేషనల్ హెరాల్డ్ భవనంలో ముద్రణ కార్యాకలాపాలు జరగడం లేదనేకారణంతో 56ఏళ్ల లీజును రద్దు చేస్తూ గతేడాది అక్టోబరు 30న నోటీసులు జారీ చేసింది కేంద్రం. దాన్ని వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ ఏజేఎల్ దిల్లీ హైకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించింది. సింగిల్ జడ్జి ఈ కేసు వాదనలను విని, కేంద్రం నిర్ణయాన్ని సమర్థించారు. నేషనల్‌ హెరాల్డ్‌ భవనాన్ని రెండు వారాల్లోగా ఖాళీ చేయాలని, లేదంటే చట్టపరంగా చర్యలు ఎదుర్కొవాల్సి వస్తోందని గతేడాది డిసెంబర్ 21న తీర్పునిచ్చారు. దాన్ని సవాల్ చేసింది ఏజేఎల్.

హెరాల్డ్ భవనంలో ముద్రణా కార్యకలపాలపై జూన్ 2018కు ముందు వరకూ కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఎలాంటి అభ్యంతరాలు తెలుపలేదని పిటిషన్ల విచారణ సందర్భంగా కోర్టుకు వివరించారు ఏజేఎల్ తరఫు న్యాయవాది అభిషేక్ సింఘ్వీ. ఏజేఎల్లోఎక్కువ వాటా యంగ్ ఇండియా సంస్థకు బదిలీ అయినంత మాత్రాన కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షుడు రాహుల్ గాంధీ,సోనియా గాంధీ హెరాల్డ్ భవనానికి యజమానులు అయ్యే అవకాశమే లేదని చెప్పారు.

ఏజేఎల్ నుంచి బదిలీ అయిన షేర్ల ప్రక్రియను పరిశీలించి అసలు యజమానులెవరో నిర్ణయించాలని కేంద్రం తరఫున వాదించారు సోలిసిటర్ జనరల్ తుషర్ మెహతా. హెరాల్డ్ భవనం ప్రచురణ కార్యకలాపాలు నిర్వహించేందుకు మాత్రమే అద్దెకు ఇచ్చినట్లు కోర్టుకు తెలిపారు. కొన్ని సంవత్సరాల క్రితం నుంచే హెరాల్డ్లో ముద్రణ కార్యక్రమాలు జరగడంలేదని కోర్టుకు తెలిపారు.

ఫిబ్రవరి 18 వరకు ఇరువురి వాదనలు విన్న దిల్లీ హైకోర్టు తీర్పును 28వ తేదీకి(నేటికి)వాయిదా వేసింది.

"For a long time we've been asking for soft loans to buy our own land instead of paying rent. We are charged eight thousand pesos (200 US dollars) for the land rental, then electricity costs between thirteen and eighteen thousand pesos (350 US dollars to 464 US dollars), sadly. Besides, when they load the truck with our vegetables they don't pay us immediately. That's why we are asking for public policies towards us, controls, fixed and fair prices."

"Yes, yes. We came to pick a bit, tomatoes are so expensive, we cannot afford lettuce anymore because it costs one hundred pesos (2.5 US dollars) a kilo, tomatoes also one hundred. So we, the poor people, how can we afford vegetables? Now we can't afford even that."
10. Protest march
STORYLINE:
Farmers in the Argentine capital gave away their produce for free on Wednesday, as part of a demonstration over conditions for small scale producers.
Groups representing small tenant farmers marched on the government house in Buenos Aires protesting policies they say are affecting their industry and livelihoods.
Accompanied by leftist and worker party members, the demonstrators distributed fruit and vegetables to a large crowd that had gathered in Plaza de Mayo square.
A growing trend away from local agricultural production and refocusing on cash rich crop, such as soy, has ramped up the price of land meaning many farmers to cede their territory to large scale producers.
Many of the protesters who gathered on Wednesday called on Argentina's President Mauricio Macri to to tackle high inflation in the country.
