Watch: Mahnava village in Bihar inundated as Gandak river overflows
🎬 Watch Now: Feature Video
Mahnava village in Bihar's West Champaran district was completely flooded after the Gandak river overflowed its banks due to release of water from Nepal following heavy rains in the area. ETV Bharat's team reached the village to take stock of things and found that the whole village is submerged in waters. Locals said that the threat of flood looms large over dozens of other villages, creating panic among thousands of residents. It is to be noted that in 2008, more than three million people were rendered homeless in Bihar when the river Kosi breached its bank upstream in Nepal and changed its course.
