Incessant rains in Uttarakhand from the past several days has caused a flood-like situation in Hardiwar with the increasing water level in river Ganga. Many ghats in Hardiwar have been completely submerged following which the administration has issued a high alert in the coastal areas. The water level in the Ganga has risen 5 cm above the danger mark. Meanwhile, Shivkumar Kaushik, SDO, Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department, said that the department is currently monitoring the situation. Along with this, the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department has also closed the Ganga Canal for the time being.
