Today is a sad day for the country: Nirbhaya's mother

Exactly eight years back, Delhi's Nirbhaya, a 23-year-old paramedical student was travelling on a bus when she was returning after watching a movie. She was brutally gang-raped by six men inside the bus. In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat on Tuesday, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi remembered the fateful night of December 2012. She said, "Even today, I feel her pain. Even today her face comes to my mind. This date is sad for the whole family, the whole country, it was like a dark night for all of us."
