Elephant rescued after hit by train, undergoes intensive treatment
A 28-year-old male wild elephant was severely injured after hit by a Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai express at Navakkarai in Coimbatore on Monday. Later, the elephant was rescued and shifted to the Sadivayal Kumki Elephant Camp by forest Officers. Now, the elephant is being treated in intensive care in the camp. "The elephant has sustained head and leg injuries, treatment is going on for the second day. We hope the elephant will recover soon," said state forest officials.
