Jharkhand: Civil engineer turns farmer; uses soilless technology to germinate seeds

At the time when youths are attracted to worldly pleasures and luxurious urban life, here’s an engineer from Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district, who left his job and turned into farming. Amarnath Das, who worked as an engineer for 14 years after completing his degree from the BIT Mesra, thought to help farmers by making a polyhouse based on soilless technology. He used coco peat medium instead of soil because of which more than 90 per cent of seeds successfully getting converted into plants. Speaking to ETV Bharat, Amarnath said that he wants Jharkhand to be known all over the world for agriculture exports so he is helping farmers using new technologies of farming.
