In an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat's Regional Editor Braj Mohan Singh, senior journalist Om Saini and eminent lawyer, Hemant Nata discussed the recent turmoil in Rajasthan politics. Amid political fiasco in Rajasthan, the experts discussed that whether new drama will take a right turn or not after six BSP MLAs from Rajasthan who enrolled as the members of the state’s ruling Congress have been issued a whip to vote against the Ashok Gehlot government. While Nata informed that since BSP is a recognised national party as such there can not be any merger under para (4) of the Xth Schedule at the state level at the instance of the six MLAs unless there is a merger of the entire BSP everywhere at the National Level which admittedly has not been done in the present case, Saini said that only the legislative party leader can issue the whip and that precedent does not support party's claim that legislative parties cannot merge without the national parties merging.
