🎬 Watch Now: Feature Video
This ashram of Mahatma Gandhi is close to the Delhi's GTB Narada Metro station. The area is famous as Gandhiji stayed there during India's freedom struggle with his wife and his friends. The Ashram is expanded in a 25-acre land, which was donated by Rajasthan based businessman Ghanshyam Das Birla in 1934. Gandhiji used to visit there often and his wife Kasturba Gandhi had stayed there for around 5-6 years. Many leaders like Sardar Vallabhbahi Patel, Subash Chandra Bose, Rabindranath Tagore and Jawaharlal Nehru had stayed in that place. The ashram has preserved all the belongings of Mahatma Gandhi such as his iconic charkha and glasses. All the photographs of Gandhiji from his different stages of life is present there and the ashram is the best place to learn about Gandhian history. But the Central Government has not paid any attention for the preservation of ashram till date.
