Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is facing flak amid rise in crimes, with the opposition claiming that the criminals enjoy political patronage and protection in the state. Within 17 days, three gruesome incidents have left a question mark on the administration. On the intervening night of July 2 and 3 in Kanpur, 8 police personnel were killed by history-sheeter Vikas Dubey gang. On July 20, Ghaziabad based journalist Vikram Joshi was shot at after filing a complaint against harassment faced by his niece. In a recent development to lab technician Sanjeet Yadav abduction case, UP police said that he was murdered on June 26-27 by his friends after getting kidnapped on June 22.
