Pilgrims take a dip at West Bengal's Gangasagar on the eve of Makar Sankranti. Ignoring the chill, pilgrims started taking bath there since morning. The state government has deployed over 10,000 police personnel and drones to keep a constant vigil across the fairground and beaches. The Coast Guard, Navy and the National Disaster Response Team are also maintaining surveillance to avert any untoward incident. The Gangasagar Mela is held annually at the Sagar Island during the Makar Sankranti festival.
