Tinsukia: Spectacular Mandarin ducks fluttering in Maguri Motapung Beel have enticed many. The rare alluring species is spotted after 120 years, according to local people. It is a perching duck species native to the East Palearctic. Birdwatchers have flocked Maguri Motapung Beel to be enthralled in its beauty. The biodiversity of the Maguri Motapung Beel was affected due to a fire in Oil India Limited at Baghjan last year. The fire killed many species that existed in the wetland.
