Rare mouse deer born in captivity in Poland

A rare Philippine mouse deer was born in captivity at Wroclaw Zoo in Poland. The zoo has said it was the first time such birth had been captured on camera. They still do not know if the new addition is male or female. The deer is one of only ten species of chevrotains and is one of the most endangered in this group. According to a statement by the zoo, only 12 members of the species live in three different animal parks, and the only male in this population is called 'Johnny English' who lives in Wroclaw. "We really hope that the newborn baby is a male", the statement said.
