In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Zafar Sareshwala, Former Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, recalled his first meeting with Narendra Modi, then the Chief Minister of Gujarat in the aftermath of the 2002 riots. He said his decision to meet Modi resulted in a lot of backlash, but he stuck to his 'responsibility' of showing Modi's true image to the world. "I became a bridge between Muslims and the Modi administration," he said.
