Heavy rains leave Dehradun waterlogged, SDRF leads rescue ops

Heavy rains lashed Uttarakhand's Dehradun for several hours late Tuesday night causing severe waterlogging in many parts of the city. Following heavy downpour, drain water entered several houses and buildings in the city. In order to rescue people trapped in flood water, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel were pressed into service. The SDRF team rescued 10-12 people trapped in the State Health Authority building located in the IT Park due to heavy waterlogging in the area. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand till August 28.
