Chidambaram takes a jibe at govt over MEPs Kashmir visit

Taking a jibe at the government rolling red-carpet welcome to European Union MPs to Kashmir, while the Indian lawmakers are detained or denied permission to visit the valley, former finance minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram said that MEPs will now be invited to attend Indian parliament session and speak on behalf of the Union government.  The 23 member EU delegation became the first team to visit Jammu and Kashmir after the modification of provisions of Article 370.  Congress questioned the government over the 'mystery woman' Madi Sharma and her NGO, Women's Eco-Nomic and Social Think tank (WESTT), who were instrumental in facilitating the 'unofficial' Kashmir visit of EU delegation. The visiting MEP has supported India's stand on Kashmir. The Congress party on Wednesday accused the Modi government of internationalising the Kashmir issue and reversing India's tested policy of not allowing any third party's interference in country's internal matter, as EU delegation completed their two-day visit to the valley.
