There was a time when women used only cotton clothes at the time of menstruation. But as the times advanced, many new and innovative sanitary products came up in the market, providing more comfort and hygiene. Here are 5 such products that every woman must know about.

Every month for 3-5 days, every woman faces discomfort, along with pain and cramps while menstruating. The discomfort is due to wetness and other issues that arise due to the use of sanitary napkins, especially when used for long hours. Earlier, women used to use cotton clothes instead of pads, but now, many other options are available in the market, to lessen the discomfort and have hygienic menstrual days.

Dr. Prachi Maheshwari, renowned Gynecologist from Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, explains that a large number of women in the world suffer from various health conditions due to lack of cleanliness and hygiene maintained during periods. But as we are advancing, women have become more conscious about hygiene and are eager to try sanitary products that ensure comfort. The duration and blood flow during menstruation can be different in different women and various sanitary products are available to cater every need. Here are some of those products that women must know about:

Sanitary Napkin

This is the most commonly used product amongst girls and women. It is more preferable because of easy availability and ease of use. It is also available in various sizes and can be carried easily in a bag or purse.

Tampons

Tampons are more prevalent among working women in metro cities. Since the tampon is required to be inserted in the vagina, many women are a little hesitant and nervous to use it. One needs to dispose of it after single use. The use of tampons is generally considered more comfortable in case of heavy bleeding. It comes in regular, super and super plus sizes. Tampons are a better option to use during swimming or other similar activities.
