Kolkata: Veteran Bengali author Anish Deb passed away at a city hospital in Kolkata. The 70-year-old novelist was on ventilation support due to Covid related complications.

Deb is best known for his science-fiction stories and was an extremely popular across age barriers.
Noted works of Deb include the first futuristic Bengali thriller – 'Teyish Ghonta Shaat Minute'. He had also penned best-sellers like Teerbiddho, Bhoypatal, Shaper Chokh, Jibon Jokhon Phuriye Jaye and many others.
Deb is survived by his daughter Monalisa.
