A day after the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Siliguri, a body of 42-year old was found hanging at Bharatiya Janata Party's booth office in Siliguri.

Speaking to media, Bhupendra Yadav said, "Under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the track record to West Bengal shows that political violence is happening in the state. Last time when our candidate got killed in the state, we approached EC to take cognizance of the matter, but the correct action was not being taken in that matter for the safety of our candidates."

Further, the BJP accused the Superintendent of Police in relation with the murder.

"We have appealed to the Election Commission to remove the DM and SP of Siliguri should be removed from their position. We believe that those officers would not be able to conduct free and fair elections in that district. Even for the first phase of elections, there are many areas in which central paramilitary forces, under whose observation elections should be conducted, are not available in the required number. We also demand that EC should take cognizance of this matter and consider the DM as well as SP guilty in this matter," Bhupendra Yadav said.
