Birbhum(West Bengal): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again stood by Nobel laureate economist Amartya Sen and warned the Visva-Bharati authorities. "You have no idea what I will do if you touch Amartya Sen's house," Mamata said in Bengali while speaking to the party leaders and administrative officials at Bolpur station en route to Kolkata after his visit to Malda.

Besides, the Trinamool supremo ordered a strong protest on behalf of Amartya Sen, along with Bengali women and students. From the beginning, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been against the 'warning of eviction' issue to the Nobel laureate economist. Earlier, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Bolpur Land and Land Reforms Department recorded the entire land in the name of Amartya Sen as per the will of the late Ashutosh Sen.

After that, Visva-Bharati authorities ordered to vacate the land by May 6. Following this, Amartya Sen approached Suri District Court and Calcutta High Court. The Calcutta High Court has recently stayed Visva-Bharati's eviction notice to Professor Sen. On the other hand, the Chief Minister has requested the intellectuals to get down to protests on behalf of Amartya Sen. The Chief Minister visited Malda on May 4.

En route to Malda, she spoke to party leaders and officials during a five-minute halt at the Bolpur station. On her way back to Kanchankanya Express after the administrative meeting in Malda, she again spoke to party leaders and administrative officials at the same Bolpur station. The Chief Minister was heard saying, "You have no idea what I will do if you touch Amartya Sen's house. They don't know me." Addressing the party leaders, the Chief Minister further said, "Put women in front. Join the 6th protest with Bengali women and students."
