Dr. Kafeel Khan who was jailed by the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly inciting disharmony in the society, said the state government has not done any work in the state in the last five years. State assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to held in beginning of next year.

Kolkata: Pediatrician, Dr. Kafeel Khan who was jailed by the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh on charges of 'inciting disharmony' in the society, said the state government has not done any work in the last five years. State assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to held in beginning of next year. Recalling his life in incarceration, Dr. Kafeel Khan, in an interview with ETV Bharat said that every moment spent in jail was painful. He said that he was framed in a case that had a profound effect on his life.

Khan said that over the past four years, he has had to deal with a lot of problems but he said that he was thankful to God that was between his own people today. Khan was cleared of charges of medical negligence, corruption and dereliction in the 2017 Gorakhpur children death case by the Allahabad High Court.

Dr Kafil Khan runs an organization called 'Mission Smile', and visits different states of the country to provide free healthcare to the poor as well as run awareness campaigns on the coronavirus vaccine.

A free medical camp was organized under the supervision of Dr Kafil Khan at the Topsia Football Ground in Topsia, a Muslim-majority area of ​​Ward No. 66, South Kolkata, West Bengal.

Talking about the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Khan said that assembly elections are going to be held in Uttar Pradesh in six to seven months and hoped for a change in leadership. He said that the Yogi government has not done any work in the state in the last five years but the state has regressed instead.
