WB Elections:  TMC heavyweight Firhad Hakim up against congress' Mohammad Mukhtar

Trinamool Congress' Farhad Hakeem and Congress' Muhammad Mukhtar are almost certain to have an interesting contest in the sixth phase of Assembly elections. The fate of many heavyweight political leaders is also at stake.

Kolkata: The preparations for the remaining two phases of the 2021 Assembly elections in West Bengal are in full swing amid rising cases of the coronavirus.

The voting has taken place for six phases for the 2021 Assembly elections. So far, 223 out of 294 seats have been voted.

In the remaining two phases, there are several constituencies in other districts, including Kolkata, where an interesting contest is set to take place.

The fate of many heavyweight political leaders in these seats is also at stake.

This time the political careers of many leaders are expected to end and many new faces will emerge as powerful leaders.

The capital Kolkata and the Calcutta Port Assembly constituency in the southern 24 Parganas will be in the focus in the sixth phase.

King Wajid Ali Shah's Nagri Matia Bridge is the most populous Muslim area in West Bengal with a population of about 2.5 million Urdu and Bengali speaking Muslims.

It is an economically prosperous, civilized region and holds an important place in the history of India. There are three assembly constituencies where Muslims are in the majority.

From Kolkata Port, Trinamool Congress senior and heavyweight leader and minister Farhad Hakeem and West Bengal Congress Pradesh vice-president Muhammad Mukhtar will face off.

Hakeem has won twice from the Kolkata Port Assembly constituency and is looking forward to a hat-trick.

On the other hand, a local resident of Garden Reach and West Bengal Congress vice-president Muhammad Mukhtar is contesting for the first time in the Assembly elections.

In the first test, he faces stiff competition from Farhan Hakeem, a heavyweight leader of the Trinamool Congress and close to Mamata Banerjee.

Congress leader Muhammad Mukhtar is busy trying his best to attract the attention of voters during the election campaign.

Voters are excited about the contest between Congress' Muhammad Mukhtar and Trinamool Congress' Farhad Hakeem but are unwilling to say anything. They say everything will be clear on the result day i.e. May 2.
