Nandigram: A crude bomb explosion killed a 9-year-old girl and injured two other minors in the East Midnapore district of West Bengal on Saturday.
The incident took place in Jadu Bari Chak village of Nandigram, where the minors were playing with the bomb mistaking it to be a ball.
According to sources, the three kids were roaming around and went to an abandoned house, where the crude bombs were stored in a polythene bag. The kids picked up the bomb assuming it was a ball. Suddenly, the bag slipped off their hands and the crude bomb exploded.
Three kids were seriously injured in the explosion and were rushed to a super specialty hospital in Nandigram, where one of them succumbed to her injuries.

Local authorities said that the remaining two children were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
