Kolkata: The Bankshall Court on Monday issued a bailable arrest warrant against BJP leader Mukul Roy in connection with a corruption case.
According to sources, Mukul Roy allegedly avoided court's summons and ignored all the notices sent by the Kolkata police, related to the case.
Last year, police arrested a person from Burrabazar area of Kolkata and later three more people were nabbed, who mentioned Roy's name during the investigation.
In his defence, Roy's lawyer said that the decision was uncalled for as there's already a case in Delhi High Court.
According to a government lawyer, the arrest warrant was issued because there was no suspension order from Delhi High Court.
