For the first time, people of Darjeeling witnessed a crystal clear Panorama of Kangchenjunga- the third highest mountain in the world, during the pre-monsoon phase. Earlier, the glimpse of the range can barely be viewed when the rain hits the Sikkim range.

Darjeeling (West Bengal): With the novel coronavirus pandemic, every one of us are forced to live inside our houses. The town which is usually be seen chasing a dream, has come to a halt amid COVID-19. However, this proves positive for the environment as the pollution level restrained swiftly after many of the countries have announced a nationwide lockdown.

For the first time, people of Darjeeling witnessed a crystal clear panorama of Kangchenjunga- the third highest mountain in the world, during the pre-monsoon phase.

According to the locals, this is the first time that the queen of hills saw the ranges, which lies at a distance of almost 75 km from the city.

Earlier, the glimpse of the range can barely be viewed when the shower of rain hits the Sikkim range.

The hill lies between Nepal and Sikkim, India, with three of the five peaks (Main, Central, and South) directly on the border, and the remaining two (West and Kangbachen) in Nepal's Taplejung District.

India is currently under the biggest lockdown with around 1.3 billion people asked to stay home in view of the coronavirus outbreak, which has claimed over 1000 lives and infected more than 33,000 people in the country.
