Siliguri: In one of the biggest seizures of narcotics in Eastern India, West Bengal police on Saturday seized 5 kg heroin from Siliguri's Goshpukur area and the market value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be worth Rs 10 crores.
According to the sources, there were a total of 10 packets containing heroin which was seized from a car. Police have initiated a probe.
"We were informed by the police that there is a suspected car which has a 5 kg of heroin so we immediately rushed in for the investigation", Phansidewa Block Development Officer, Sanju Guha Majumdar said.

There have been other cases of narcotic seizures in the past, In 2019 the Kolkata Zonal Unit of NCB seized approx 10,000 Yaba tablets (weighing approx 1 kg) on August 21/22 on NH 34 at Omarpur Bus Stand, Murshidabad, West Bengal, three Indian nationals were arrested.
