Haridwar: Chief of Kali Sena and president of Shankaracharya Parishad Swami Anand Swaroop praised Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for carrying out an anti-encroachment drive against tombs (Mazars) built on forest and government lands in the state. Talking about Mazars (tombs) built on government and forest land in Uttarakhand, Swami Anand Swaroop, "The Uttarakhand government's move was a welcome step. But, more needed to be done. As of now, more than 400 Mazars (tombs) have been removed in the state. Whereas if we talk about statistics, around 20,000 tombs have been constructed on Devbhoomi land illegally. So, 19,600 tombs are still remaining and they should be removed as early as possible."

On entry of non-Hindus in Haridwar city, the seer said, "The Act of 1916 should be implemented as early as possible in Haridwar. The Act prohibits the entry of non-Hindus into Haridwar. The Congress MLAs in Haridwar are providing protection to such people." Speaking further, Swami Anand Swaroop said, "BJP should include in its manifesto for the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, that Mazars should be removed from across the country."
