Kedarnath walking path reopened for pilgrims; glacial snow removed

The Kedarnath Dham walking path at Bhairav ​​and Kuber Gadere was reopened once again for the foot pilgrims. The DDMA, SDRF, DDRF, NDRF, YMF and police personnel have cleared the way which was ridden with glacial snow.

Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) : The glacial snow has been removed along the Kedarnath Dham walking path at Bhairav ​​and Kuber Gadere. Once again, the route was reopened for the foot pilgrims going to Kedarnth. The DDMA, SDRF, DDRF, NDRF, YMF and police personnel have cleared the way after putting in a lot of hard work.

Along the walking path, jawans were posted to ensure that the pilgrims travel safely. Today, over five thousand pilgrims left for Kedarnath Dham from Sonprayag, while the movement of horses and mules is still closed on the pedestrian route. Due to snowfall on the 18 km pedestrian route including Kedarnath Dham, the foot travel is posing many problems.

This left a bad effect on the journey. Where the yatra was completely closed on Wednesday by the administration. Whereas in the late evening the road was closed due to breaking of Bhairav ​​and Kuber glaciers. Somehow the road was opened on Thursday morning, but after noon the road was closed again due to breaking of the glacier at Bhairav ​​Gadere.

In such a situation, soldiers worked till late night and reopened the walking path. There are huge glaciers at both these places where it is becoming very difficult to pass. District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) Nandan Singh Rajwar said that due to the breaking of the glacier on the Bhairav ​​Gadere of the Kedarnath trekking route, the path was closed for traffic.

The travel route for horses and mules has not been opened yet. The work of removing snow from the laborers is being done fast, so that the movement of horses and mules can also be done. He told that SDRF, DDRF, NDRF, YMF and police personnel are helping the passengers to cross the glacier for the safety of the passengers on Bhairav ​​Glacier and Kuber Glacier, so that no untoward incident happens in any way.

District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said that all officers, employees and laborers are discharging their duties in difficult circumstances. Along with the safety of the passengers, he has also asked to take special care of his own safety. He said that do not let too much crowd gather at both the glacier points and instructions have been given to make the passengers in the line cross the glacier.
