Rishikesh: Five foreigners were rescued by the Lakhsman Jhula police from a cave located on Neelkanth temple road on Saturday.
They were staying in the cave since March 24 as they did not have enough money to stay in a hotel. Before the lockdown they were staying in a hotel at Muni Ki Reti.
Though they did not show any Covid-like symptoms, they were quarantined for the next 14 days.
They have been sent to a government facility set up at a local ashram by the health department.
The group comprised of Turkey, Ukraine, USA, France and Nepal nationals. They all came to India in December.
Due to the lockdown, around 600 foreign tourists are stuck in the Rishikesh region.
