Nainital: Satoli village in Uttarakhand's Nainital district is a model of Covid-free village where not a single person has been infected with the deadly virus ever since its breakthrough.
As the second wave of the Covid pandemic is gripping the entire nation, the infection has started engulfing villages and is spreading rapidly in rural areas.

But this village in Mukteshwar is free from Covid due to the awareness, discipline and responsible behaviour of the people residing here.
The people have given credits to village head Pushpa Nayal who has prepared an independent Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to beat coronavirus.
Clear instructions were issued in the village where outsiders were restricted to enter without Covid negative report.
If a person comes from remote areas, then arrangements were made for health check-up and isolation in temporary quarantine centres outside the village.

Apart from this, the locals were constricted to move out of the village.
A home delivery facility was put in place to provide medicine, ration and basic necessities to people in need so that the village can be saved from the pandemic.
Pushpa Nayal herself keeps vigil on the health of villagers.
On getting ill, people are rushed to hospital by 108 ambulance service.
