Dehradun-Mussoorie highway closed due to heavy rainfall and landslides

Heavy rains in the state of Uttrakhand have caused havoc leading to many landslides in the area. The Dehradun- Mussoorie road has been closed again which led to traffic disruption. Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the region for the next 24 hours.

Mussoorie (Uttarakhand): Incessant rainfall led to a landslide on Dehradun-Mussoorie road on Monday blocking the traffic.

Traffic was disrupted on the busy road and several local residents who commute for work daily were stranded for hours.

A joint team of the Mussoorie Police, Fire Service and Public Works Department attempted to open the route, but due to continuous rains, they faced a lot of difficulties.

As per sources, some routes have been opened and process to remove boulders and trees are still on.

Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the region for the next 24 hours.

District Administration has also issued an alert in this regard.
