Dehradun (Uttarakhand): Uttarakhand BJP MLA Surendra Singh Jeena passed away at Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi on Thursday morning.

Surendra Singh was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 after he had tested positive.

He was an MLA from Salt constituency in Almora district.

His wife had passed away a few days back following a heart attack.

Meanwhile, BJP President Banshidhar Bhagat has condoled the demise of Surendra Jeena. Bhagat in his message has said that Jeena was a very young, energetic and capable worker and MLA. He also said that Jeena was always active in the organisation and was very popular among the people.

Bhagat also prayed for the peace to the departed soul and said that the party is with the family in this hour of grief.

Earlier, a BJP leader died of heart attack as Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was addressing a gathering for Ghatampur by-polls.

The deceased, identified as Arvind Sachan, suffered a heart attack while Keshav was addressing the people.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead
