Chamoli: The Badrinath National Highway on Friday was blocked at Gulabkoti and Kaudia in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district due to landslide following incessant rainfall in the region. As per the report, the movement of vehicles has been stopped from both sides on the National Highway as heavy downpour is still continue in Chamoli. Men and machinery have been pressed into action to clear the debris and resume traffic on the highway.
Earlier on June 7, the Gangotri National Highway was blocked after a massive landslide at Uttarkashi. Huge boulders and a large amount of debris had fallen on the highway blocking it. Due to the closure of Gangotri Highway, the international border including Gangotri Dham, 11 villages of Harshil and Bhatwadi valley were cut off from the district headquarters.
