Haridwar: Police and civil administration are doing their best to keep people away from the infection of novel coronavirus all over the country. While the police are trying to enforce lockdown with strictness in many places, novel methods are being used in other places to motivate people to follow the lockdown.
Earlier, the Haridwar police had made an actor in the makeup of Yamraj, the Hindu mythological messenger of death, move around in the town to urge people to stay indoors instead of loitering on roads.
The artist dressed up as Corona demon moves along with the cops patrolling the city and delivers awareness messages in a dramatic fashion accompanied by a demonic laugh on the public announcement system.
Haridwar police said that a fictitious character in the form of coronavirus was launched on the streets with the aim of sensitizing the public under the Kotwali town area about the importance of remaining indoors if they want not to be infected by the coronavirus.
Notably, Uttarakhand is under lockdown since March 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, there are 35 positive patients in the state with several areas witnessing restrictions on the non-essential movement of people.
