Woman dies after being thrashed by goons out on bail in Kanpur

A group of goons, who were out on bail, thrashed two women by barging into their home around a week back. One of the women, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital, succumbed to her injuries today.

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): A woman, who was thrashed by goons around a week back, succumbed to her injuries at the Kanpur Medical College on Friday.

Police said the accused were out on bail

According to reports, the goons had barged into the victim's home, under Chakeri police station limits, and thrashed her and a female relative around a week back.

After battling for her life for 7-8 days, the victim breathed her last today, Kanpur SSP Anant Dev Tiwari informed.

Tiwari said that all of the goons had a complaint registered against them in 2018, following which they were imprisoned. They were out on bail when they thrashed the women.

Tiwari said that the victim's family had lodged a complaint against the goons over their "drinking." The goons thrashed the women over the same complaint, he added.

Meanwhile, Tiwari said that three of the accused have been arrested, and teams have been formed to nab the remaining accused.

Body:चकेरी थाना क्षेत्र के जाजमऊ इलाके की रहने वाली रूबी व उसकी बहन रुखसाना पर क्षेत्र के ही रहने वाले महबूब ने अपने साथियो मिलकर जानलेवा हमला किया था | हमले में दोनों गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गई थी जिनको कानपुर मेडिकल कालेज में भर्ती कराया गया था,जंहा शुक्रवार को रूबी की मौत हो गई | एसएसपी अनंत देव तिवारी का कहना है कि सन 2018 में अभियोग पंजीकृत किया गया था जिसमे महबूब और उसके साथी मुल्जिम थे | सभी को गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेजा गया था बाद में सभी जमानत पर बाहर आ गए थे | दस दिन रूबी और रुखसाना पर इन्होने जानलेवा हमला किया था जिसमे इलाज के दौरान शुक्रवार को रूबी की मौत हो गयी है | एसएसपी का कहना है कि तीन अभियुक्तों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और महबूब को पहले ही मुठभेड़ के दौरान गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका था | इस घटना में जो और लोग शामिल है उनको गिरफ्तार करने के लिए पुलिस टीम गठित की गयी है |
