Unnao (Uttar Pradesh): A woman was abandoned on the Agra-Lucknow expressway, after two men including her relative, attempted to rape and murder her inside a moving vehicle in Uttar Pradesh.
The 29-year-old woman, a resident of Lucknow, said that her nephew requested her to come with him to Bangarmau in Unnao district, as he had bought a plot there.
Since he was illiterate, he asked the victim to help him out with some land-related issue.
The woman then got into a pickup vehicle with her nephew and his friend.
However, once they got on the Agra-Lucknow expressway, the two men physically assaulted her and tried to rape her, the woman alleged.
When the woman resisted, the two tried to kill her, and allegedly started biting her face. Listening to the commotion, when residents from a nearby village under the Behta police station limits arrived, the duo abandoned the woman and tried to flee.
Upon receiving information, the local police arrived at the spot and nabbed the duo after a brief chase.
The police initially sent the victim to the Bangarmau community health centre, but looking at her condition, doctors referred her to the district hospital.
