Lucknow: A 32-year-old man from Prayagraj married an effigy, following Hindu tradition to accomplish his father's dream.
"I have nine children in all. All of the others got married but my son couldn't find a match for himself. We persevered hard to find a bride for him but to no avail. The corona-induced nationwide lockdown for me was a reminder to get my son married at least before I leave for my heavenly abode. I always dreamt of getting all my children married at the right age. Everyone in the family joined us in our celebration; all the traditions were followed and my son was married off to an effigy. The only thing that differed was the absence of a bride," Shiva Mohan Pal, the father added.

He also stated that his son accomplished his lifelong dream. Moreover, he said a banquet was organised and people were more than happy to be a part of a unique wedding.
