Rae Bareli: A woman was attacked by her husband in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli court premises on Tuesday. The woman was on the court premises for an appearance in a case. The accused attacked the woman with a knife. On hearing the screams of the injured woman, people on the court premises rushed towards her.
She was immediately shifted to the district hospital by the police. The incident triggered a chaotic situation on the court premises. The accused was arrested by the police. Police said that Uma Singh, the victim, has a dispute with her husband Dukhharan Singh. On Tuesday, the woman had come to court for an appearance in the case.
Uma Singh is a resident of Unchahar while her husband Dukhharan Singh lives in Poorva Dayaram Tiwari village in the Nasirabad locality of the district. Both were married for about 22 years. The couple has three children. Tuesday was the date of the hearing in the court. Dukhharan also visited the court and was waiting for the opportune moment. The hearing in the case was deferred to the next date. The woman Uma Singh was heading home with her lawyer after knowing that the date of hearing in the case was deferred. When Uma and her lawyers were talking with each other.
Suddenly, Dukhharan appeared on the scene. He was carrying a knife and attacked the woman. The woman sustained a deep wound on her stomach. The shocking incident happened near the court lockup.

Dr Pradeep Kumar, Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) of the District Hospital, said, "The injured woman was brought to the hospital by the cops. The woman sustained a stab wound on her stomach. She is undergoing treatment. The condition of the woman is stable." On the other hand, Sanoj Kumar, the advocate of the injured woman, said that the victim has a family dispute with her husband. "The trial in the case is underway. We were returning home after getting the next date of hearing in the case when her husband attacked my client," the advocate added.
