Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh) : MP Afzal Ansari, brother of gangster politician Mukhtar Ansari, was sentenced on Saturday in the Gangster Act case. Afzal has been sentenced to four years in prison which leads to his disqualification from his Lok Sabha membership. While giving the verdict, the judge referred to Munshi Premchand's famous story 'Bade Bhai Sahab'.
It is said that Afzal had a big hand in making Mukhtar a criminal, if Afzal had fulfilled the duty of an elder brother, then Mukhtar would not have become a criminal. He would have been an international-level player. ADGC (Crime) Neeraj Srivastava shared this information relating to the case in a special conversation with ETV India on Sunday.
According to Neeraj Srivastava, the reference to Premchand's story 'Bade Bhai Saheb' came up during the judgment from the court. Two brothers have been mentioned in this. The judge told Afzal Ansari that the way two brothers are mentioned in Premchand's story - one brother fulfils the duty of being an elder brother. He inspires his brother to walk on a good path, but Afzal Ansari did not do so, when Mukhtar Ansari first stepped into the world of crime, if Afzal Ansari had stopped him, then today he would not have been sentenced. Had he come into sports, he would have been an international player.

On legal options available for Afzal Ansari, ADGC Crime said that there are none and Afzal Ansari will become disqualified as an MP. Any public representative who is punished with a sentence of more than 2 years loses his membership in Parliament. Today is Sunday, and because of this, the copy of the decision has not been sent to the Lok Sabha yet. It is expected that tomorrow it will go to the Lok Sabha and it is possible that the process of cancelling the membership of Afzal Ansari will be completed.
Along with this, ADGC (Crime) Srivastava said that whatever punishment has been given now, it can be reduced. On the other hand, Afzal Ansari's sentence will remain intact for 4 years, because he has not been punished in any case before.
