Lakhimpur Kheri: The UP State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (UPSCPCR) has given rupees four lakh as financial assistance to the family of the 13-year-old girl who was raped and strangled to death last week.
Preeti Verma, member, UPSCPCR, met the family of the victim and got the money transferred. Verma also assured the family of all possible help and ordered the official concerned to take strict action against the culprits.
She said no one indulging in crime would be spared.
SP Rajya Sabha member Ravi Prakash Verma also met the affected family and accused the Yogi Adityanath government of not doing much to ensure safety and security of the people.

The incident took place on Friday last when the girl had gone to her fields. Later, her body was found in a sugarcane field.
An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code besides the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the SC/ST Act. According to the post-mortem report, the cause of the girl's death was strangulation after rape.
