Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh): A girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a police officer and his friend in a moving car at a village under the Ghiroh police station area in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district.
The accused police officer has been identified as Dharmendra, a constable posted at Patiali police station in Kasganj district.
According to sources, the girl was returning from a government hospital on Friday when she was picked up by Dharmendra and his friend, Pradeep.
When the girl came nearer to the car, the accused duo forcibly took her inside the car who then raped and later left her at an abandoned place.
The girl somehow reached home and narrated the incident, following which an FIR was registered on Saturday. She also alleged that the men mortally threatened her if she dares to reveal anyone about it, sources said.
An FIR was registered against the three men under relevant sections of the IPC and the police have started an investigation into the incident. The girl was sent for medical examination and efforts were underway to nab the accused, sources added.
