Lovers shot dead in suspected honour killing in Uttar Pradesh

The 25-year-old youth's body was found dead in the Gadia Rangiya police station area of ​​Shahjahanpur district while the woman's dead body was found in her own house. The deceased were having a relationship for six years

Shahjahanpur: A man and woman were found dead in the Gadia Rangiya police station area of ​​Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning after they were allegedly shot dead by the family members of the woman.

The body of Ashish Kumar (25) was found at a distance of 150 metres from the woman's house, whereas the dead body of Bunty (21) was found on the second floor of her own house, said police.

Ever since the incident took place, the male members of Bunty's family are at large. Meanwhile, the young man's father has accused the woman's family of the murder, police added.

The police dog squad and forensic team reached the spot and two women from the Bunty's family were taken into custody.

While briefing the media, Superintendent of Police, S. Anand told that the Ashish was married and became the father of a daughter two weeks ago, and Bunty's marriage was fixed in November.

The deceased were in a relationship for the last 6 years. After both the families got to know about the love affair, a rift happened between the families, eventually leading to the killings.
