UP: 6 killed as car collides head-on with bus

Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh): Six persons, including two women, were killed after a bus collided with their car on Friday evening. The accident took place near Sambalpur village under the Dibai police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahar.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, a private bus was coming from Delhi and the car was on its way towards Bulandshahar.

It is suspected that the bus driver lost his balance over the wheels and vehicles collided on National Highway 93. Following this, seven among six persons killed on the spot while one critically injured.  

The crash was so powerful that the bodies of the car occupants got stuck in the vehicle and rescuers had to use hammers and crowbars to pull them out of the ill-fated car.  

While the injured woman was sent to a nearby hospital, the bodies of the victims were sent to the Bulandshahar DHH for post mortem.  

The bus driver fled from the spot after the accident and a case has been registered under Sections 304 A, 279, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against him.
